Lambergrass was formed in early 2006, originating from the idea of some friends in the Milano
area, wich loved and attended Bluegrass jam sessions. They decided to try and form a
bluegrass band.
The name comes from the name of a river, the
Lambro (
Lamber in local language), wich flows nearby Milan,
and from the word Blue
grass.
Over the years, have been introduced in the repertoire some popular Italian and country songs, arranged and interpreted in the bluegrass style.
The band, composed of 7 elements; two excellent solo singers and five musicians, mostly multi-instrumentalists, which often alternate with various instruments. In July 2011 Lambergrass have replaced the banjo player and added a new bass player.
In these last years Lambergrass have participated in festivals abroad (International Bluegrass Festival in Thun - Switzerland - Grabenmühle Bluegrass Festival - Switzerland - Verzasca International Country Music Festival - Switzerland - Bluegrass Festival Munich - Germany) and the prestigious Italian events (Ferrara Buskers Festival - Arcore Street Festival - Malpensa Cavalli). Some songs were also trasmitted on air by foreign radios such BluegrassMix (USA), CountryMusic24 (D), RadioBeo (CH), Country Radio Switzerland (CH).
In June 2008, released first CD "On The River", they recorded live and entirely self-produced, through which the group intends to spread this kind of music little known in Italy. In the end of 2011 will be released on their second CD (Thats' Love) based on an original project, the first album of its kind in Italy, which contains famous Italian songs performed in bluegrass style.
